Glacius sighed. "Okay then... Listen closely... Daedra is a name given to a group of semi-divine or magical creatures that inhabit the various planes of Oblivion. The word is an Aldmeri term that means the opposite of Aedra, and translates roughly into "not our ancestors". The term applies to any member of any race of beings other than the mortal races of Tamriel and the divine beings from which the mortal world... Your world... Was created." The ice atronoch shut his eyes as he rubbed his forehead, then went on. "We are not native to this world. We reside in places called Planes of Oblivion. These planes are ruled by a deadric prince or princess, which are extremely powerful deadra, almost god-like in their own world served by their lesser deadric servants. You may have heard of a few of these princes, as most are the enemy of your patron god Akatosh. Mehrunes Dagon, Sheogorath, Malog Bal... The evil demons that wish to corrupt mortals, etc etc..." The priest shuffled a little on his seat. "Most lesser deadra have a patron deadric prince they worship. For instance, the sentient war-like dremora worship Mehrunes Dagon, the deadric prince of war, ambition, and corruption. The female, amazon warriors, the Golden Saints, are worshippers of Sheogorath, prince of madness." Glacius cleared his massive throat. "Which brings to light exactly what I am. I am an atronoch. More specifically, an ice atronoch, though there are different kinds. We are elemental, otherwordly beings that do not have a patron prince or god. We were created when your world was created. We were the excess, pure, creative energies that made up your world that evolved into a sentient being that you see before you." Glacius licked his lips nervously. "Which of course, means you have more questions...."

Hotaru and Suki
Hotaru groaned. "First a near-death experience, now a lecture on magic, history, and science. In what other ways do you plan on torturing me, Glac?"
Suki rolled her eyes. "So wait. You're, like, extra energy from when the world was created? And I suppose that you're extra ice-energy... But if you live in the Planes of Oblivion, then what are you doing here? And why are you pretending to be a priest?"
"Yeah, I hate to say it, but a priest isn't exactly a good menacing disguise for some freaky-powerful magic thing. I'dhave gone with a black-robed warrior, or a fierce Nord. Or a portly housewife with a bad temper. Any of those would scare a passerby out of their wits."
Suki rolled her eyes and pushed Hotaru. "You're so weird, Hothead."

"It would be better to say I LIVED in the planes of Oblivion... And as for this form..." Glacius smiled warmly. "I have nothing to hide. I AM a priest... noone would believe me, but I saw Akatosh... A warm, caring god... Normally deadra don't ally with the aedra, their enemies... But... It intrigued me. I have been following the NINE ever since... It's along story... But I was given this amulet for sealing my deadric powers so I can maintain this form." Glacius had a look of bittersweet sadness. "I was once a follower of Mehrunes. Many, many years ago, an evil conjurer used me to wage war against the empire when Mehrunes invaded Nirn. It took a paladin hero with an enchanted blade to bring me down... So many innocents were slaughtered by my hands... But when the conjurer was defeated by this same hero, I was freed from my bonds. For more years, I wandered Cyrodil, confused, and hostile. One day, I passed out in front of an abandoned shrine, and in a vission, I saw Akatosh, and he offered me a new kind of servitude. To be a priest. You see, since we aren't created by gods or deadric princes, we atronochs don't have a patron. In Oblivion, the oldest and most powerful deadra can live without being reincarnated into a weaker form constantly. Dying... Is terrifying to a deadra... It's an endless cycle. And when we die, we feel the pain and horror of death, only to be made again weaker then we originally were. Thats why most deadra have a patron, someone to give them power and to have allies. As a result, atronochs CHOOSE their patron since they don';t have one. Thats what happened to me and Mehrunes... But that is long past, and as a result, I now follow true gods."

Suki and Hotaru
Suki stared for a moment. He'd been through so much... He must have been thousands of years old, seen a million things... She was suddenly bursting with questions, eyes bright and curious. Oh, gods. Hotaru knew that face... Before Auki could launch into her little question-fest, Hotaru interrupted her.
"Well, that's just hunky dory for you. But what is the point of this again?"
Suki glared at her sister. Hotaru was such a dimwit sometimes... Especially when she was tired. It was like babysitting her own twin...

Glacius rubbed the back of his massive neck. "Well... I'm asking you to keep this secret..." The ice atronoch admitted. "Not that many people would believe you, but all the same, most mortals can't understand that I am a immortal, otherwordly being... And deadra aren't liked much of anywhere, especially by the native Tribunal Temple here in Morrowind."

Suki and Hotaru
Hotaru rubbed the back of her neck, suddenly feeling sore. Ugh. Secrets and fighting and, worst of all, ice that actually made her cold. Was nothing simple? She pulled her leg behind her head, leaving it there stretching as she thought. Finally, she spoke.
"How much would you pay us to keep your secret?"
Suki was horrified. "Hotaru! How could you say that! He just saved your life!"
"Then almost killed me with ice. I am not in a gracious mood, and we could use the money. Or whatever it is that priest-immortal-ice-things use as cash. Come on. Only the rich can afford pride."
Suki glared. "No way. Could you be any less polite? Ugh. You're so usseless when you're angry."
"Useless, am I?" Hotaru sighed, bringing her leg back into a normal position. "Look, whatever. Just forget it. Both of you. Okay?"
Suki nodded, eyes thawing a little, and turned back to Glacius. "We'd be happy to keep your secret."

Glacius smiled in relief. For a minute there, he though the mortal was serious. What could he possibly give her? His amulet helped his release form, and he didn't have a septim to his name. Really, he never hungered or thirsted, and he was an immortal being immune to the elements. He just wanted to live comfortably in the service of his new masters. "You have my thanks." The massive, muscular bald headed priest got up. "Well then... To Vivic shall we?"

Hotaru and Suki
Hotaru glared up at him. Right then, there were very few thigns she wouldn't trade for a nice nap. He was pretty high on the list of things she would gladly trade away. Suki was on her list of things untradable, though only barely. Fire was a whole lot higher on the nontradable list than Hotaru's sister was just then.
"Are you okay to travel, Hothead?" Suki asked, worry showing in her eyes. Hotaru had just been battered and frozen, and Suki herself would probably be feeling tired if she hadn't just bee filled with such a rush of energy from Glacius. "We could rest or something if you need to..."
Hotaru blanched. Allow them to wait for her to get her beauty rest and put off the entire trip? No way.
"I'm fine, Sukiki. Ready to go. Really."
Hotaru somersaulted into standing, more to prove that she wasn't tired than anything, and grinned cheesily. "Let's go."

Glacius smiled as he trudged behind at a distance, but then realized something. He hurried back to the frozen statue of Nelos, and picked up the Viper Fang, quickly running unsteadily back, he held out the blade to the twins by the hilt. "Here. This blade has served evil for too long, and is high time it receives redemption.. Use it to defend yourselves or sell it to pay for your meals for a month." Glacius stated firmly.

Hotaru and Suki
Hotaru stared at the blade which hd almost taken off her head distastefully. That freaky jerk couldn't have been carrying a kit of medicines, or a lyre. Oh, no. He had to be carrying a sword which could first cut you up, then make you dissolve with acid. What a fun souvenier. She took it gingerly by the hilt.
In her hand, the blade was firm and well-fitted. Hotaru's dark eyes brightened. Freaky and possibly evil it might have been, but it was a good blade, with balance absolutely perfect for a girl like her. She gave it a tentative swing and laughed. It cut through the air easily, making a light hissing noise with it's passage. Gorgeous blade.
Suki, too, was having her doubts about the imporomptu gift, but when she saw her sister's obvious joy, she inwardly shrugged and moved on.
"Thank you, Glacius. We'll... Do something with it." She smiled brightly at him and turned to keep walking.
"So," she began, "If you've lived for almost forever, how much do you kow about history?"
Hotaru groaned, but she was smiling, practicing with her sword and brandishing it at imaginary foes.

Glacius whistled. "Thats a great question... lets see.... I have probably been around since your ancestors first escaped from the clutches of Umaril the Unfeathered, sorceror king of the ayleids, who were an ancient race of elves that used your ancestors as slaves." The disguised priest lifted his head up, expression thoughtful. "I have... Witnessed certain events, but most deadra are clueless of mortals and their ways. In fact, it has only been several generations since I actually lived among you."

Suki and Hotaru
Suki nodded, though she'd only understood half of what Glacius had said. Dang history lessons had to be so boring. It hurt her brain to listen to those teachers drone on and on filling everything with facts and statistics that all sounded the same way. She didn't care much about important events. She liked to hear about the people, what their lives were like, what the animals looked like, what people acted like and what languages they spoke.
"Well, then... What is it like in your dimension? What do you look like in there? Are there trees and plants and animals and stuff, or is it just you guys floating around?"

Glacius grinned slightly. "Like I said, Atronochs of any kind, especially elemental atronochs, don't have their own patron, so we usually live in the Oblivion of whomeveer we choose to be our master." Glacius seemed lost in thought. "We do have a native home though. It's called in the mortal tongue, "The Frozen Isles". It's an endless realm of snow, with forests of ice and enormous glaciers almost as big as mountains. The sky pours light rain and snow constantly, and the frozen seas surround our home. No other beings without the aid of magic can survive there. There never was any uncomfortable heat or... Even a sun... The moon and stars gave the only needed light in a realm of total night."
