Suki and Hotaru
Glacius's feeling of kinship was mutual. Suki found herself smiling, liking this man more and more. Of course, she believed that this was due to her gratefulness to Glacius and the fact that he was probably the first sane person she'd spoken to that day.
"Quite ambitious, actually. With reason, too. We have things that no one else can offer. We're quite... unique." Suki smiled. It was true. Not once had Suki or Hotaru seen anyone like them. Especially no one who used their elemental powers to perform. They had worked long and hard at the circus, and it had paid off. Their act was one-of-a-kind. It was vibrant, exciting. It was them.
"Advice would be welcome. Yes, we're from Cyrodil."
Hotaru stayed silent, mistrusting the stranger and sullenly glaring at the surroundings. What was up with this guy? Did he have to be so damn pleasant? If he was as good and kind as Suki was treating him as, why did Hotaru have the strange suspicion that he was more than he seemed? And why did the fire mage want to run as far away from Glacius as possible?

The ice atronoch sighed in his craggy voice. "Well... The Dunmer natives are not as friendly here then the other provinces.... In fact, what you are labled here in Morrowind, is simply this. An outlander.... Down here in southern Morrowind, it's not that bad. But the northern part is a whole different story. Racism is big in the Dunmer culture. Slavery, segregation, and simply being rude and provacative to others is how they greet other races here. Be pleasant and calm in these situations. I garuntee you will find yourself in one. Only fight when there is violence involved. They WANT you to get angry and attack first. They can get away with it too, especially the Telvani area where imperial influence is very thin." Glacius smiled. "But Morrowind is kind to others too. There is a lot of opportunity here. The economy is booming... The land itself is alien and strange. I don't know if thats a good thing. Lots of strange creatures. Hope you don't mind bugs though... Especially huge ones... The main source of transportation between major cities IS one." Glacius leaned back, rubbing his huge hands over his bald head. "There are a lot of political factions. Morrowind is certainly filled with culture... That can be a problem sometimes, but it seems to have died down some." Glacius smiled. "All I say is this, keep your head low, be careful, and you will do fine. Since Dunmer dominate the country, cities like Vivic, Balmora, Caldera, and Ald Ruhn are good places to start..."

Hotaru and Suki
Hotaru gave Suki her famous I told you so, look and Suki stuck her tongue out at her sister. Her blue-black eyes twinkled and her frustration with her sister vanished. It was just ipossible to hate Hotaru for long. She had that likable air to her...
Hmmm... Racism, violence, and provocation. Yay. Well, Hotaru was usually much better at keeping her temper in check, so Suki hoped that by the time they made it to Vivic she will have cooled down. Still, the beauty, the strangeness of this country, was all so exotic and intoxicating. Suki wanted to live it and would defy those who would stop her. Let them come. She and Hotaru together were stronger.
"We were planning on heading to Vivic immediately. Hmmm... What a strange misture of pleasant and unpleasant. Oh, well. Every place has its bad points. We can deal with these the same way we dealt with the ones in Cyrodil."
Hotaru was busy wiping sweat off her brow. This wasn't heat-sweat. She didn't sweat from the heat. This was fear-sweat. Hotaru hated bugs. They were so... silent. So unexpected. The found themselves the most surprising hiding spots and surprised you just as you settle into security. The thing that really scared Hotaru was a bug's ability to climb things. If you couldn't hear or see them coming, and they could climb up sheer surfaces silently, how could you prepare yourself for them? The fire-mage had a feeling that she wouldn't be going anywhere near those giant bug-transports that Glacius talked about. No way.

"Wait a minute? Your heading to Vivic? Right now?" The ice atronoch smiled. "Do you mind if I come with you? I needed to head there as soon as I drop these off." The immortal priest said with a smile as he hefted his sack. "Besides... If you have trouble with guards... Your going to have trouble with the ordinators." The tone was a lighthearted, teasing one... But there was a small slip of truth and nervousness too... Most ordinators were NOT friendly...

Hotaru and Suki
Suki's smile brightened. She knew that it was reckless to want to say yes when she'd just met this man, but she somehow didn't care. He had a trustworthy air to him. Besides, he'd gotten them off the hook. They owed him one.
Hotaru's eyes widened in horror. More time... spent with him? No way. Absolutely no way. Besides, she and Suki didn't need a baby-sitter! They were almost eighteen, plenty old enough to take care of themselves! She was going to open her mouth wide, glare him down, and say...
"Of course!"
Hotaru stared at her sister, mouth wide with shock. Suki... had said yes. Suki, the protective, careful one had agreed to let a total stranger travel with them. Had the world gone mad? Hotaru half expected the sky to fall or a pig to fly across the sky. Were there even pigs on Morrowind? Focus, Hotaru. You've got to explain to Suki... find some way to get rid of this Glacius guy...

Glacius pretended to look relieved. After all, he was supposedly a harmless priest. Maybe a scrappy looking one, but a priest none the less. It would make sense if he asked for an escort. Besides, he liked the two sisters, and was curious about the two mortals. Deadra were rarely surprised, but the reason Glacius was surprised was these two FELT like otherwordly beings. Were they that skilled with magic? To the point of altering your own life engergies? There was that reason, simple curiosity, and the fact the atronoch's icy eyes saw a shadowy figure stalk out of town as soon as the words Vivic were heard. The ice atronoch wanted to be positive, but Pelagiad seemed to have a certain bandit problem if he remembered correctly. "Thats very good. I'm just going to drop these off really quick..." And the huge man hurried away to the fort.

Suki and Hotaru
Good. He was leaving. Hotaru watched him walk off, eyes narrowed. When he was in the fort's walls, she turned on Suki.
"What the heck? You just invited some random stranger to come with us! He's much bigger than the both of us and could maybe overpower us if he caught us off guard. He could be a bandit, or a swindler, or just some jerk who's gonna' hold us back and be a complete nuisance! What were you thinking?"
Suki sighed. That was Hotaru. Overreact when surprised. "I was thinking that we could use someone to show us around and this guy had already done us a favor. Come on, he seems nice enough." She smiled winningly. Hotaru just glared.
"Well, I don't think he seems that great. He's probably trying to string us along so he can take all of our cash and beat us up for fun."
Suki rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on, Hotaru. He's fine. Just relax. Everything's gonna' turn out alright..."
"Yeah, sure it will. And pigs will fly." Hotaru was exasperated. What was wrong with Suki? If she didn't back Hotaru, then who did? Ugh, this was going to be so horrible...

After a short while, the massive man casually walked down back to the two sisters. He didn't have the sac anymore. Whatever his delivery was to the chapel here, he made it. "Are you ready to go? I'd like to hit the road fast before it gets dark." He smiled, blue eyes kind. To Hotaru though, they probably seemed strangely glassy or shiny.

Hotaru and Suki
Hotaru wasn't looking at his eyes. She was looking anywhere but at Glacius. Even seeing him got her shivering. What was wrong with her? Usually, she loved new people... She was social by nature. In fact, she had no idea what others do with themselves without a twin sister always by their side. Suki sometimes confided in Hotaru that she wished to have more alone time, and Hotaru didn't judge that, but she simply couldn't understand. Why wouldn't Suki want to spend every minute of her life with someone she loved? Hotaru would just brush it off as impersonal and just another of her sister's quirks.
Suki was more practical-minded. She smiled at Glacius, but the smile was distracted. "Well, I'd love to hit the road early, but I think I should pick up a few things at the market. Wait, is there a market here? We need to re-stock. We need some food and I'd like to see if they have someone who is better at mending ripped clothes than I am... I swear Hotaru tears her clothing with her teeth, sometimes..."
OOC: Sorry for the long wait. It's my b-day tomorrow and I had to talk to the grandparents and suchlike... xD

Glacius rubbed his chin thoughtfully... Whoops... He forgot these two had to eat. "For food, there is two places... The Halfway tavern, and a shop that sells goods of every kind run by a bosmer named Mebestian Ence. For mending clothes..." The ice atronoch looked extremely thoughtful. "They have an armorer here... A grumpy high elf... He can mend cloth I suppose."

Hotaru and Suki
Suki grimaced. A high elf? Uh, yeah, no. Their first encounter with a high elf had not ended well... Suki had only barely held Hotaru back from attacking the rude femme. Really, she needn't have called Hotaru a... Well, it was rude and she shouldn't have done it. At the time, they were only hours off the boat from Cyrodil and Hotaru was already cranky with sea-sickness. Suki herself was so angry at the elf-woman that she'd had half a mind to let Hotaru go at her. But no, that would have been too public. Instead, they walked away, blending into the background.
"It's okay. I'll mend it... We have some needle and thread somewhere around here... Was it in your pack or mine, Hotaru?"
"Dunno," was Hotaru's grudging response. Suki sighed. This was going to be a long journey.
"Well, I suppose that we can just head to that store you mentioned and grab some lasting food for the remainder of the journey. Other than that, we should be good. It's no good weighing ourselves down with unnecasary items."
"Hmmph." Oh, Hotaru. This was going to be such a long trip.
OOC: *twitch* That was such a bad post... I'm sorry. And I made you wait so long, too. And I had mindblock and have absolutely no idea how to spell unnecesary... *twitch*

(We have a spell check ... BTW, do you know how to add a chat window at the bottom of the site's homepage? And if you need a backstory, I revised it so anyone can understand it.) Glacius nodded with a small smile. "Im not hungy(atronochs never had to eat), so I won't waste your time. Buy it so you can eat on the road or go to the tavern and rest. I need to get to Vivic soon though... Eating on the road before night comes sounds more sensible. Otherwise, we would have to wait till tommorow and it's already noon." The atronoch in disguise was watching the sun with narrowed eyes. The only thing Glacius ever liked about it was it's ability to keep time and the light it brung for the mortals... In The atronoch's oblivion, the ice atronoch's home was always dark, like dusk here in the mortal realm, and huge forests of ice and glaciers dotted a snowy wasteland that rested on the frozen sea.... It was always comfortably freezing, never even a hit of warmth... But the ice atronoch supposed it was a worthy sacrafice for serving the Nine.

Suki and Hotaru
Suki nodded. "We'll hop over there and grab something hardy and we can eat lunch while walking." She flashed Glacius a smile, grabbed Hotaru's arm before she could make a stupid comment, and pulled her sister to the small store. It wasn't hard to find in the tiny village.
Hotaru wasn't going to make a comment. In fact, she was suddenly feeling much better. As soon as she and her sister walked away from Glacius, the clammy cold feeling that had gripped Hotaru lifted and she found herself turning her face to the sunlight and laughing aloud. Suki just rolled her eyes at her sister's strange moods, and pulled her along faster.
Glacius was right. It was noon. Hotaru loved the sun, loved it with her very being. Noon was her favorite time of the day. Virtually anywhere she went, she could feel the sun's strengthening prescence above her, warming her soul and energizing her.
Hotaru waited outside the store while Suki blew through it, buying hardy, firm foods and some strong thread in mere minutes. When she came out of the store and started dragging Hotaru back toward Glacius, though, the bad feelings returned. Why did Hotaru hate this guy so much? It just didn't make any sense...
"Done," beamed Suki. "Okay, let's head out soon. Do you have anything to finish up here, or shall we set out right now?"

Glacius smiled back at her. The ice atronoch almost had an instinctive trust in Suki. Didn't know why, but the diguised deadra did. it was almost as if she were an ice atronoch herself... But Glacius' smile faltered ever so slightly when his glassy, almost white eyes met Hotaru's brown ones that were so vibrant and unnaturally energetic... It was almost... Like she had the aura of his kind's rival, the flame atronochs... But they were mortal... It didn't make sense. Glacius then realized he was staring at them blankly and shook his head to clear it. "Sorry... You two just remind me of someone." The ice atronoch grinned. "I'm ready to go when you are."
