Balderion formed a ball of fire in the palm of his hand and he and vintus began the deep trek into the shrine. The walls were damp and slimy and the cave smelled like death. They occasionally passed a few skeletons lying on the floor, most likely more victims of Corpus. The cave tunnel opened up into a large cavern and Balderion looked around. There were strange markings everywhere in the cavern.

The smell was horrendous. The stench of rot and death was enough to make those with weak stomachs gag in revulsion. It was a good thing Vintus was tough, otherwise the imperial paladin would throw up in his helm. Clad in steel, the two stayed close, not only for protection, but for light, seeing as the choking darkness seemed to almost swallow the puny fireball. As they continued to travel, Vintus stopped. Way down the slimy cavern hallway was a room in the distance... With an eerie red glow radiating from it's depths. Vintus tapped Balderion. "I can feel several evil presences in there." The paladin informed. "What is the plan?"

Balderion stepped deeper into the deep cavern and saw the strange light coming from the room up ahead. "Hmm I don't know we only have one point of entry as far as I can tell so we can't reall sneak up we may have to just charge in."
OOC: If you have a better plan tell him I really don't know what to do XD

Vintus nodded in his helm. Really... Considering the steel... Any form of sneaking would be pointless... For both of them. Besides, they were warriors of the Empire. Vintus gripped the steel hilt on his claymore tightly, blue eyes blazing with fury and determination underneath the enclosed steel helm. "Lets go..." The imperial paladin whispered to Balderion. Swinging back the massive blade, the steel clad warrior charged forward with huge strides, covering an amazing amount of ground underneath the armor shell.
Their master... It called them. Thats what they were gathered here for... "Oh Dagoth Ur!" Braynes lifted his shadowy red eyes to the ceiling. "You are our father! Our savior to our country! Accept this offering in felesh, find it worthy, drive the outlanders from our country, and cast down the false gods!" The insane dark elf screeched. "Let all those who call you their enemy tremble in fear!" The voice echoed off the filthy cavern walls. The room itself was simple. Sizable and round in shape, stalagtites hung from the ceiling like the teeth of some savage beast. In the right corner, was what appeared to be a set of huge, black metalic bells. Dirty bed rolls were gathered near the opposite corner of the room. In the middle, with about 6 Dunmer of various sexes and clad in nothing but loin clothes, surrounding a strange, evil-looking stucture that had open shelves. These shelves were filled with eerie red candles that gave off a light similar to the color of blood. Small, demonic statues also occupied these shelves, and there was also what looked bloated pieces of meat crammed into some of the shelves... Fluid leaking from these open spaces... The dark elf named Braynes was the only one standing, the other Dunmer were kneeling and muttering. Braynes drew a sharp dagger, and stabbed into his arm. Blood... as well as a yellowish fluid spurted from the wound as the crazed and giggling dark elf ripped the huge chunk of his arm out. Shivering with agony, the flesh started regenerating, making the arm appear muscular... And slightly deformed. "We give this to you master... Find it worthy so I can be welcomed with open arms..." Braynes rasped sadistically. The other dark elves started chanting as the standing dark elf threw the piece of flesh into a fire pit at the foot of the structure. The flames turned a bright red and whipped up into the air, filling the room with a sickly light. Braynes laughed maniacally. "Nothing can stand in our way! The Great houses will fall! The tribunal will fall! MORROWIND of today shall fall! The new world of Dagoth Ur shall rule!!!" The lgiht cast a sadistsic shadow from the worshippers. "We shall now tak-" The dark elf was cut off. A sound of what sounded like clanging metal was heard, A burst of flame, and the head cultist stared in numbified shock as the end of an enchanted claymore stuck from his torso. Time seemed to slow, as Braynes fell without a sound, revealing Vintus holding the Flame of Akatosh, the blade seemed to gleam with bloodlust from the evil blood it tasted. Behind the imperial was Balderion, the altmer's eyes had a dark look to them. The other worshippers stared in shock from their kneeled places on the ground... But their faces quickly turned to rage, and each of them grabbed a huge spiked club next to their places from the ground, and charged the intruders.

Balderion looked down at his steel armor which was glowing a strange red from the light ahead. He looked ahead at the glowing light in front of him and charged forward their metal armor clanging noisily along. They rushed in the room that was filled with people that were strangely covered in blisters and sores. As Vintus skewered what appeared to be their leader the followers sat up from their kneeling positions and charged forth. Immediately Balderion Gripped his sword tightly and began channeling magic energy into it, suddenly sparks began flying off and a large bolt of charged up electricity blasted forth in a wave killing two or three of the charging cultists. The rest that were attacking the high elf slowed a little, but stayed alert nonetheless. Some of the lightning remained in Vintus sword giving it a powerful electrical charge he rushed forward blocking a few attacks with his shield, and using his sword to stab one of the men in the stomach, his eyes rolling back in his head as volts of electricity coursed through him.

At first, Vintus was shocked and mortified by the numbers and intensity in which they fought.... But they weren't exactly skilled... They swung their iron clubs clumsily, and compared to the battle hardened warriors armored with steel, they didn't last long. After a few vicious attacks, Balderion and Vintus slew them all... The paladin, steel armor glinting red from all the Dunmer blood that splattered across metal mail, glanced around at Vintus. "That was surprisingly easy..." The paladin was cut off, as he started shaking and clutching his head. Then Vintus felt cold.... There was a pressure somewhere in this cavern... It was... So evil and insane... the power of it so great that it felt like the pressure of an ocean was hanging above him... Then Balderion and Vintus started hearing voices.... At first, there were insane murmerings, words so mixed up, no sense could be made out of them.... But... Then there was that voice... That sickenly eerie voice... The one that echoed off the walls of corrupted stone....
[glow=red,2,300]"So you have killed off my master's new children? Alas... Their reward is the afterlife and the chance to serve again.... But where will you be imperial swit and high elf n'wah? I'll tell you one truth... Your corpses will be feasted on, your bones turned to ash, and you will be forgotten. Noone can truly stand Dagoth's might. Your false gods have no power in this place. I give you one warning, leave Morrowind. When my master fully rises... this will be no place for you...[/glow]

Balderion stared in disgust at the diseased Dunmers blood spattered his armor. The cultists were clumsy and disorganized and were quickly dispatched. Balderion turned to Vintus, "Well that was..." the high elf was going to say easy, but as he witnessed Vintus' face he rushed over and steadied him. The imperial looked as if he was going to collapse, Balderion was about to ask if he was alright when suddenly whispers began filling the room, inaudible at first but they intensified and soon a large voice was booming, "What the hell....." was all Balderion could manage to articulate.

[color=limegreen][glow=grey,2,300]"Hehehehehahaha.... No running away? Very well then outlanders.... Try me... Search me out in this cavern, this humble home of our lord.... To pit my strength against yours... Will be very satisfactory..."[/glow][/color]
The voices dissapeared... And so did the pressure... Vintus took deep breathes. "By.... By the Nine...." the paladin managed to choke out... His head... it still pounded somewhat... "Balderion... There is something else in here... We may not make it alive..." The last words were grim... The power behind the evil of that voice... But there was determination in Vintus' too... This was how he swore he was going to live... And this is how he would die... Defeating this "thing" that just spoke to him was what his job was... "This room looks clear... there is no other passages..." The steel clad warrior inspected the strange, evil looking shrine? Vintus wasn't sure what it really was supposed to be. Vintus was still looking at the strange black/red structure as he asked, "There were two other passages weren't there?"

Balderion's eyes opened wide with confusion and horror. Whatever was talking was not their friend and sounded incredibly powerful. As the voice died away, he looked around at the strange markings covering the wall of the room they were in. There were horrific paintings of a man wearing a strange mask with three eyes killing what appeared to be an imperial man. The scene was gruesome and gory and Balderion's eyes turned away. As Vintus spoke of the horrors that were to come, the high elf's eyes darkened, he had no desire to die here, and he was determined to kill whatever it was threatening them and make it out alive. "Yes there were two others from the way we came." Balderion said in reply to Vintus's question.

Vintus sighed, took of his helm, and rubbed his temples. "I can sense many evil beings in this place... Though nothing like the thing we just heard... This tunnel is clear... I guess this is where they held their.... um... "services" at." Vintus glanced at Balderion, then at the strange structure, gingerly reaching out and grabbing one of the small red statues from it's shelves. Through the steel glove, the imperial paladin had a concentrated frown as he rolled the small figurine in his hands. It seemed to be made out of clay, it was black and red in color, and it had two small red stones for eyes. Frankly, the imperial paladin found it creepy, but he wrapped it in cloth and dropped it into his small sack. "We may need this to get information later if we get out alive.... Lets head back to the cavern room where the three tunnels are. We will make our decision about our next move from there..."

Balderion looked at Vinus with serious eyes, and nodded in agreement. Just thinking about his friend that was lost in this place made the high elf's stomach churn. Who knows what they did to him, he could be one of the mutated monsters that roam these caverns or something even worse. As they reached the romm where there were many passageways, Balderion turned to Vintus, "Well which way? I personally vote the middle. It's just a gut feeling though."

Vintus' steel helm turned to face the two directions... "There is an evil presence in both cavern halls... Nothing compared to that thing we heard... But then again, we aren't very deep, so there might be more... I don't know... I suppose the middle it is." The steel clad paladin murmered thoughtfully, and followed Bladerion down the middle cavern halls.

The soft clanging of their metal armor echoed down the dank corridor as they continued along. The smell of death worstened in his nose as they got closer to the end of the tunnel.
(I'm not sure where you're going with this, so I left it open.)

They were almost immediantly ambushed. Vintus felt the sense of evil at first, but then it flared up, and without a word, the imperial paladin drew his Flame of Akatosh. Flames wreathed around the blade, and the filthy corridor lit up long enough to show what once was a dunmer... But... There was something horribly wrong. It had no eyes... In fact, it had no upper face at all... it was just a hallow hole... It was muscular whatever it was, a buff, man-like monstrosity that let out a howl as it raced forward toward the group, bare feet blurring as it caught up to them in mere bounds.
