Vintus paused, face contorting underneath his helm. Being a paladin has bless him with the ability to feel evil when its nearby. Such a twisted and dark aura practically radiated from the cave... "I don't like this. I can feel such an evil wave length from that place..." Strangely enough, the place looked like an ordinary smuggler den or cavern. A man sized hole with a wooden plank attached to hinges for a door. Vintus didn't know much about this Dagoth Ur, but he did know he was the enemy of the tribunal gods. Other than that, very little. Vintus gripped the hilt on his claymore, nervous and a little edgy. They were being watched...

Balderion was on edge. He didn't quite know what was in the imposing cave, but he had to go in.. he was doing this for the Blades and whatever they were supposed to find inside was some kind of threat to nearby settlements. Baldreion took a deep breath , and swallowed the uncertainness, "For Uriel Septim." he said with confidence as he he began the trek into the cave. He stopped, there were no footsteps behind him. He turned around to find Vintus looking at their surroundings. "What is it?"

Vintus just turned in alarm. With Balderion's back turned, a low, inhuman screech was heard as a bloated pink and yelowish arm reached out for Balderion. The creature stepped in the low light through the tunnel. It stood about 5-6 hunched over, muscular and bloated that may have once been human or self but far beyond that appearance now. Yellowish fluid leaked from it's mouth and skin, and it's eye sockets were rotting away. One of the legs was so bloated it limped in order to get to the battle mage. It wore nothing but a raggedy and filthy loin clothe. It had a gaping mouth full of needle like teeth.... A lame corpus, and it looked hungry... And very diseased.
Vintus managed to draw his claymore, flames rippling from the length of the blade, and was about to help Balderion when a bolt of lightening shot against the ground toward the imperial paladin. Vintus managed to hold his claymore to absorb most of the attack, but couldn't stop some of the electricity from singing his skin through the steel which acted as a conductor... Maybe they shouldn't have worn steel... Vintus looked over his blade to see what may have been a Dunmer.... But... There was problem.... It stood about 6-5 and where the eyes used to be sprouted a tentacle. It was dressed in rags and and wore a ripped and old looking robe. Sparks were dancing from it's ash-colored outstretched hand... An ash ghoul...

Balderion turned around and screamed in horror and disgust. The thing was so ugly. He jumped away from the grasp of the bloated monster. He launched a lightning bolt at the creature and used this opening to do some damage, the pause wasn't nearly long enough and had to block a punch from the corpus. He stabbed the monster in it's stomach and immediately puss began puoring from the wound. It sizzled as it hit the ground and Balderion jumped to get farther away. Puss continued to pour for a few more seconds, until it lowered to a drizzle. Balderion almost gagged, the stench was horrible and it must be coming from the wound. He shot a ray of ice at the beast hoping that it would weaken it.

The lame corpus moaned in agony as electricity sizzled from it's weak skin and a gash was made in it's stomach. It glared at Balderion, getting ready to lung forward when it's right arm was frosted over in ice. It screeched and howled unnaturally, the sound of a soul in torment as the creatures flailing caused it's arm to smash into the cavern's wall, shattering the bloated arm. Enraged and hurt, it clawed at Balderion.
The Ash Goul smiled and whispered in it's hoarse whispery voice, "The song calls to us all outlanders. You cannot truly kill us, Dagoth Ur is like a father. With his caring hand, he has woken us from our sleep and cast out mortal bodies and blessed our flesh. When he drives the false gods away and takes back our ancient homeland, this will be no place for you. Those who stay will be scattered like dust..." Vintus cursed as he maneuvered past another lightening strike sent by the ash ghoul. Getting close enough, he brought his blade in an arc. A burst of flame happened and when the light cleared, the ash ghoul pounced away about 5 yards away, a decent sized scratch across the chest of the monster. Ashy dust silted from the wound but no huge damage was really done. "Unfortunate..." The ghoul whispered, and then smiled as he turned to Vintus with an eerie smile, tentacle curling and moving where it's eyes used to be, "FOR YOU!" It hissed.

Balderion was hit by the creature's remaining arm right on the shoulder. He cringed in pain and backed away from the monstrosity. He looked at his blade and had an idea. He shot a lightning bolt into his fine steel longsword and lunged at the monster, he stabbed the monster in the shoulder but it didn't do much damage. The creature flinched though as the electricity coursed through him.

The lame Corpus almost tripped as it quickly backed up in surprise.. But then it came after Balderion again, rotting eyes manic with rage and hunger as it tried to claw his throat.
Vintus snarled as he spun with his claymore. The ash ghoul ducked, quickly rising up to deliver a counter attack with it's sharp clawlike fingers. Vintus spun his blade to catch the ash ghoul's attack, and the two were locked in a battle of strength, both having the potential to push the other away and get an attack in. Vintus grimaced as he stated, "To hell with you demon."

(Sorry to take so long to reply. ) The corpus seemed to choke as frost took over it's face, then the bloated monstrosity fell over with a crash, it's deformed head smashing into icy chunks. Vintus roared as he slammed into the ash ghoul, surprised, the demon stumbled. It reared up, hissing, feral -looking fangs bared, electricity pulsing in it's hand right before a loud shing was heard. The ash ghoul's head then fell off, ashy silt draining from the wound as the Dagoth Ur follower fell over, dead. Vintus took several deep breaths, trying to get his stamina back. That thing was unnaturally strong. The imperial looked back for Balderion. "You alive still?"

Balderion breathed a sigh of relief as the monstrosity collapsed and his head shattered into many pieces. He examined his shield and there were a few dents from the monster's attacks. His shoulder was still a little sore from where the corpus struck him but other than that, and being tired he was fine. He then remembered Vintus and ran out of the cave just in time to see Vintus slash the head off of an ash ghoul. Vintus turned and asked "You alive still?". Balderion rolled is eyes at his smart comment, "Yes I'm fine, but those ash ghouls can be nasty how about you?"

Vintus nodded slowly... "You have any injuries? I know a little in the arts of restoration... Not enough to heal major wounds... But enough to cover scratches.... I swear to the nine... I pray we haven't caught corprus. I don't think we did... But... Thats what I heard from the temple. You get all kinds of nasty ailments from those things. I feel fine... what about you? Because in a sec, we have to to go in that Oblivion, and I am a little nervous.... Do you have a torch?... I don't think I brought one..." The imperial paladin stated glumly. Frankly, he didn't like this at all. This wasn't a nest of necromancers or pathetic vampire... This is what his training was all about... Mara... Akatosh... Protect us all. Vintus then took off his steel helm in shame and rubbed his temples in embarrasment. "Look at me... Okay, get a hold of yourself... It's just... There was so much evil in those things.." Vintus proclaimed with a disgusted glance at the ash ghoul.

"No, I'm not seriously hurt, I may have a nasty bruise on my shoulder but otherwise, I'm fine.... Yes I heard corpus does horrrible things to you, a local even told me you turn into a mutated monster." Balderion's thoughts drifted to the lame corpus's face and he shuddered. "Unfortunately, no I neglected to bring a torch also but I may be able to sustain a fireball in my hand, to give us light." The High Elf frowned as he looked at Vintus, he appeared to be very worried about this. "Yes, may the Gods help us." Balderion stated softly. He wasn't really the religous type but they could use all the help they could get.

The imperial collected himself a little bit, then taking a deep breath, he sheathed his claymore. He had to be ready for anything else they ran into without wasting time by simply drawing the Flame Of Akatosh. Taking out his right hand, a small blue glow appeared in the palm and Vintus slapped his chest. He felt the burns from the electricity and scratches from the ash ghoul heal and seal up. Once that was done, Vintus inspected his steel armor. "Allright.... I'm good to go." The imperial looked at the altmer as he put the helm back on, waiting for his okay too.

Balderion rotated his shoulder making sure it wasn't too damaged. It might be sore for a couple of days but it would heal. He looked at his sword which he feared may have been damaged by the lame corpus's sizzling puss but it appeared to be unarmed. The altmer looked up as the imperial addressed him, "Yes I think I'm ready to go in." Balderion stated confidently. He may have sounded confident but he was afraid of what else lurked on the inside, if that was just the entrance. They had no idea how big the cave was, and he would most likely find his friend dead.

Vintus nodded as Balderion made a small orb of flame in his hand, providing light as they squeezed through the narrow, damp, disgusting corridor.... It looked like it was dug like this at first, but eventually they landed in a small, circular room.... Obviously cave, or naturally made.... Three pathways stretched from their right, left, and in front, not counting the way out...
