Certain terms may be come acrossed when reading or rping in Morrowind. If unfamiliar with them, come here and see if it's here. If you think it isn't explained well or not here, please contact me.
Morrowind- Where we are rping at. Also known as Vvardenfall. The actual country of Morrowind is even bigger. Vvardenfall is the center island. You may see Mournhold and the rping boards there. That is actually placed in the main land of the country.
Nirn- The world. However, it is also commonly used when reffering to the world, although it's translation is more close to universe.
Tamriel- Roughly means the world... Although, not neccessarily the planet world, more like an encompass of the different countries and nations.
Oblivion- The deadric worlds, usually ruled by their respective deadric princes.
Swit, N'wah- A degenerate dunmer curse word meaning "outlander' in their native tongue. Swit is generally used for imperials.
Cyrodil- The imperial home land.
Chimer- The early dunmer people. Techniquely, the dunmer are still chimer, but that term is usually used to refer when they weren't cursed by Azura, during the time they had golden skin and blue eyes.
Dunmer- What the dark elves call themselves.
Dark Elf- What other races, especially imperials in their own country, call the dunmer.
Dwemer- Ancient race that also inhabited Morrowind a long time ago before they mysteriously died out or dissapeared. Called dwarves by the imperials, their ruins dot Vvardenfall Morrowind.
The Tribunal- The 3 worshiped gods of the dunmer... Once part of the five dunmer heroes who led their people to Morrowind to settle in after being driven by the rest of their chimer brethren(Who actually became the high elves). Dagoth Ur and Lord Nerevar were part of this group, but Dagoth Ur became corrupted and insane, while Lord Nerevar died, his cause still of much debate today. The Tribunal are Vivec, Almalexia, and Sotha Sil
Solstiem- A large, mountainous and snow covered island not too far away from Morrowind's coast. The population there is almost entirely nordic, who trace their ancestry back from the pioneers who settled the country hundreds of years ago from Skyrim. These very nord's ancestors were the ones responsible for invading Morrowind in the country's birth.
Blight- A disease native only to Morrowind, carried by some of the wildlife who inhale ash particles containing the sickness that is brought from Red Mountain. Blight is much more dangerous than any of the common diseases, and requires it's own brand of healing potions to cure. A terrible strain of blight, called Coprus, is incurable.
The Nine- The foreign gods and goddesses brought over by the imperial occupation. Usually their shrines will be seen in imperial colony towns and House Hlaluu territory, since the rest of the native dunmer usually worship the Tribunal, the deadra, or their ancestors. House Hlaluu is the friendliest Great house to foreign occupation, and as a result, they are the only dunmer group to even have such shrines present.
Azura- A deadric princess of mystery and shadow. One of the few deadric entities that can reasonably called "good" by their mortal counterparts. She was once the chimer(dunmer's) main god, before she left the dunmer and cursed them. The Temple claims this was because of jealousy of the Tribunal, while the ashlanders and other deadric worshipers claim it is because the Tribunal murdered Lord Nerevar, whom Azura had a close connection to. Regardless of the reason, a prophecy exists from her that a reincarnated hero of Lord Nerevar, called the Neravarine, will come back and heal Morrowind. The specifics of this prophecy are very debated.
