Name- Jacki Kaye
Race- Half-blood (Wood Elf and Imperial)
Age- 19
Class- She is a baker's daughter to all who ask.
Faction- Thieve's Guild, considering the Twin Lamps
Appearance- Jacki is a pretty nineteen-year-old, in an angular, sharp way. Her eyes are dark brown, almost black, and shine with intelligence. She is of middling height, with a sharp brow and petite nose. Her mouth is full, but in a severe way, inclined to sneer or grin maliciously. She is strong, not to be underestimated, but her focus is not usually on strength.
Her focus is on stealth and speed. Although her current position as a guard is one where she engages in combat, she focuses on long-range attacks and short, sharp jabs, rather than on brute force. She inherited from her father skill with a bow, but she also excels at throwing knives and stars. She is terrible with most swords, finding them heavy and unwieldy. Instead, she uses a dagger as her blade, if she uses one at all.
She usually wears dark colors, navy blues and blacks, sometimes deep purple. She has two hidden dagger sheaths on her wrists as well as a belt stocked with thin throwing daggers and stars, which she wears at all times. When things seem like they're going to get rough, she has a light chain mail shirt and gauntlets for her arms as well as a dagger.
She wears her dark hair back, chopped haphazardly as it is, and has recently started sweeping her hair over her pointed ear-tips to hide them from hostile eyes.
Personality- Jacki is headstrong and high-spirited. She has a very serious set of morals and will fight tooth and nail to keep them. She's defensive of her friends, and wary of strangers, especially well-off strangers. She has a soft spot for the poor, especially young girls like she once was.
Her determination is remarkable, as is her temper. While it takes much to truly anger Jacki Kaye, she has a flaming temper and very little pity for the victims of it. Cockiness disgusts her, along with laziness and cowardice.
She is fiercely loyal, and breaking promises, while possible, is painful for her. She isn't very social or talkative, but she is almost always honest with her friends. She never leaves a debt unpaid, when physically possible, and hates liars and cheaters. While her job involves robbery, which some think of as cheating, she doesn't see it that way, because in her mind, she's stealing from those with enough to spare and without enough forethought to guard their possessions properly.
History- Jacki was born to her mother, single after Jacki's father, a Wood Elf who had a two-week relationship with her mother, ditched her mom to join a rescue mission for a friend of his. He never returned, though when Jacki was younger she used to dream that he did. She grew up in the slums of one of Morrowind's cities, trying to make do with what her mother could scrape up from her meager living as a seamstress.
Jacki was always a high-spirited girl, and she hated to see her mother scrabbling to keep them alive when so many in their city got along with more than they needed. Barely, she managed to keep herself in line and stay out of trouble for her young life, but when a member of the Thieves' Guild saw her participate in a fight with a couple older bullies and approached her with an offer to keep her and her mother well-fed and happy for as long as Jacki helped his Guild, Jacki jumped at the chance.
She adapted well to life as a thief. She was lithe and strong, but more importantly, she was determined. She trained relentlessly, clawing her way through the ranks until she was
no longer just the girl who tagged along, but an accomplished and respected member of the Guild.
While she obviously wasn't well-known, she got by and lived a relatively happy life, living by a slightly twisted code of honor and liking it. She made friends in Cyrodil and was happy to be among her equals and doing something that she felt was important. She was working toward a goal. She was going to do this until she could buy her and her mom a house I the country and finally live peaceful lives together.
Unfortunately, those hopes were crushed when her mother developed a serious illness and eventually died from it. Though Jacki had blown all of her savings on healers that she hoped could cure her mother, it was all fruitless. Jacki Kaye's only family member died, and with her died Jacki's hopes and dreams for the future.
She stayed with the Thieves' Guild. What else was she supposed to do? All of her friends were members, and they were the only humans that Jacki trusted and cared about left. Her dreams of leaving the Guild ended, and she simply lived life day to day, working harder and harder, just to give herself something to do.
And finally, she became noticed. Actually, the gang of thieves and fighters that were Jacki's collection of friends were what intrigued Gabriel Swordfyre, the Guildmaster of Jacki's city. He approached her, in his eyes the most competent of the group, and asked if she would be its leader, and lead it into new territory, this land called Morrowind. She accepted and he sent her off to join the members of the Thieves' Guild in Morrowind and work as a guard and recruiter, along with her usual jobs as thief.
In Morrowind, all that Jacki has seen is hatred. As a half-blood, she is loathed by all but the most tolerant, and even those hated her for being from a "meddling Imperial Guild." What had started as the Thieves' Guild's entrance into Morrowind had become an all-out underground war between the Commona Tong and Thieves' Guild, and Jacki was in the middle of it.
