Lunara's ears twitched a bit, listening to the breton words carefully and almost bared her teeth to his comment about money. It was true, she didn't have alot on her and she did need a job to do. But what about her mother?
The young female Khajiit sighed in her mind, knowing that in order to find her, she had to survive this land first. She pulled the red hood over her head, still gripping her bow with one paw and nodded.
"Very well. I will look for this Vitellius and bring back the money and tax report to you." Lunara replied and started to walk to the door that the guard had opened. She glanced at the guard, her forest green eyes narrowed before turning her head to the breton again.
"Thank you." She added, her spotted tail waved once before turning and padded out of the place. Of course, she needed to find Vitellius in order to do so but to her, it was no rush really and she had time on her hands. She contiuned to move along the pathway, onto the next place.

The breton nodded absentmindedly as he went back to work, green eyes narrowed in deep concentration as the elderly man filled out more documents.
Before the female khajiit could leave the door though, the imperial guard, clad in in his steel armor, roughly grabbed her by the shoulder, although quietly, and his icy blue eyes peered down at Lunara solemnly. "Check the barrel outside the door." The man stated in a very quiet whisper, staring at the female khajiit through the darkness of his enclosed helm eerily.
The man then smiled with mirth, as if nothing had happened in a rather disturbing encounter that the breton, still mumbling at the desk, didn't seem to notice. "Enjoy Morrowind. Make sure you show your new papers to the Captain. He is in the next building." The young imperial called out as the female khajiit left, stepping aside so she could go through the door.
Outside, Lunara still wasn't through with customs.
It was some sort of walkway, part of the town, but not actually where you could see the town, though a khajiit's sensitive ears could pick up on people talking, laughing, yelling, etc, as well as the sounds of the swamps, the salty water lapping somewhere, the sounds of insects that was so common in the Bitter Coast region.
The reason you couldn't see the town was that Lunara was on some sort of walkway between the Census building and a smaller, one story building. The road was paved with stone, and there were high, stone walls on both sides of the small pathway to apparently keep prying eyes away from the Census workers as they traveled back and forth.
On the other end of the road, outside of the door to the smaller building, was a medium sized beer keg... Though it was hallow, given the plug near the bottom of the thick barrel was gone, leaving a small, dark hole.
The upper led was slightly askew, almost as if begging someone to open it.
Then again. That was clearly Lunara's choice.

Lunara wondered what the guard had said by "Check the Barrel out the door." It felt as if he wanted her to fall into a trap. But then again, She was alway wary of things and this was one of them.
Padding down a stone pathway, she stopped to see a barrel sitting against a smaller building with an open hole, close to the bottom of it. Waving her tail for a moment, she wondered of this was the barrel that the guard was speaking about. The lid of it was slightly open, as if begging to be opened by someone and the female khajiit flicked her ears back with narrowed eyes.
"It must be a trap....but what if?" She spoke softly, moving to the barrel with each step. Reaching it, she slowly lowered one paw but kept her other paw on her dagger, just in case. Looking around to make sure no ones around, Lunara slowly lifted the lid and hoped that this wasn't another trick.

Light filtered into the barrel, and on the bottom of it was quite shocking indeed... Inside was another iron dagger, still in it's sheathe. It had an imperial seal on it... A small, dragon-like persona supposed to represent the imperial main god Akatosh. These were little sidearms , usually wielded by imperial bowmen. The quality of the dagger was better than the one Lunara currently had, but they were both just about as effective.
There was also a small, palm sized leather bag... Upon closer inspection, showed there were silver imperial septims inside. Not enough to live off of for a while, but enough to say, buy a meal and several days at an inn.
There was also a folded piece of parchment of some kind... Which unrolled, was a beautiful, colored ink map of all of Morrowind, it's landscape, and all the major cities and towns...
The last piece was the most mysterious... A green/black ring with a small, pearl stone embedded into it... It gave off a blue glimmer when held to a light... It was obviously enchanted... Not a powerful one... But enchanted none the less... It was probably the first enchanted item Lunara had seen in her life. When you looked closely, in very faded writing, the word, "Bastul" Could be made out in tiny print.

Lurara couldn't believe her eyes, holding the colored map in her paws and looked around to see if anyone was watching, Of course, she didn't hear anything around her and continued to look at the map for a moment longer, studying the cities and towns that she was looking for.
Flicking her ears, she quickly rolled it back up and placed it in a small slot on her belt, then looked into the barrel again. The female khajiit studied the dagger for a moment, taking in the details that it had and couldn't help but smile at this. She had read about this seal, a dragon-like symbol that only the most proud would have and love for the god Akatosh. Lunara really didn't understand much about the god, but she knew enough to know the symbol.
Glancing at her own, she reached down and picked up the Dragon-like dagger with one paw, sighed slowly and replaced it with her own dagger. Even though she knew she would run into trouble later on and have to either fight or claw her way out of it. Placing the old dagger in the barrel, she grabbed both the small leather bag and an odd green/black ring.
The leather bag was quickly placed her side pouch, which her friend Saber had also made her and started padding away from the barrel as if nothing ever happened. But yet she still held the small ring in her paw, wondering what it was and soon placed it in her pouch as well.
Resuming her walk, Lunara headed towards the Captain's place, which was up the stone path if she was correct and hoped nothing went wrong.

The inside of the building was very similar to the first. A wooden desk, a fireplace, although the coals inside were merely glowing as the flame slowly died inside, and a bookshelf, although it contained a lot less documents than the Census building.
Seated behind the desk was a middle aged imperial. He looked to be in his fifties, with graying and balding hair. His face held a stern, strictly pro business look to it, and his features were gruff. His brown eyes still held energy and vitality, but it was concentrated and sharp over the eyars of service in the legion... The steel armor that he wore was noticeably different. It was full of ceremonial markings, gleamed with a polished look to it, and it's color had a more bronze/gold look to it than gray.
Several papers and document lay on the table, as well as his helm. The man looked up from his work when Lunara entered, expression not shifting or changing in the slightest. The man nodded as he got up from his seat, walking over to the female khajiit, steel boots clicking with each step. He was not a normal legion soldier or guard... This man was a full fledged commander.
"Allright... Your almost done. Just show me the papers the man gave you when you came through the Census building, and then your free to do what you want. If you have any questions about Morrowind, you are free to ask them." The commander informed gruffly.

Lunara stepped into a small room, her right paw still on the door nob and looked around with a calm look on her face. The room look similer to breton's, but had less papers and books then anything. Closing the door behind her, the female khajiit turned to see a man sitting at the desk. By the look of him, he was more like an Imperial and more older.
Her forest green eyes studied him for a moment, seeing that his armor was more gold and broze, which she noted as him being at a higher rank. Flicking her black tipped ears, the man got up and walked over to her, the noise from his steel boots clicking as he walked. Lunara couldn't help but smile at this, knowing that even the highest ranks would be heard from a mile away thanks to that sound.
Waving her spotted tail, she grabbed the roll of papers that was wrapped in a brown bow, three slots away from the dagger that was in the barrel and handed to the man with a nod. "Sure and yes, I do have a question." She spoke, her voice calm and at ease. "Where can you find Khajiits? I know they live on these lands but where?" Lunara asked, even though she had a good feeling of where they were.

The older man blinked his brown eyes once. Eventually, the imperial captain crossed his arms, tilted his head, pursed his lips and stared at the female khajiit quizzically. "Thats a rather odd question." The commander informed gruffly, though with slight interest.
"Well as you know... Morrowind is predominately dunmer, or dark elf as my brethren call them. A little less than 80%... The beast races, you in other words follow them with less than 5%... We the imperials are only slightly lower than that, and the other races are spread evenly from anywhere from 3 to less than 1%... This information is from a census we did a few years ago... Despite the percentage though, the non dunmer races tend to congregate in one area."
A pause, and the captain sighed as he fetched a small, glass bottle from the shelf filled with a dark maroon liquid. He then preceded to open up his desk, fetching a small drinking glass as he popped off the top, and poured a small amount in. "As you know... Morrowind is the only country that is part of the empire that can openly, and legally practice slavery. Those slave races... Tend to be beast races, like khajiits... When we occupied this country 300 years ago, we agreed to allow the dunmer to keep their slave rights... Most of us imperials don't like the deal, but no war was fought because of it, and if we tried to outlaw it now, the Great Houses, the native Tribunal Temple, and simply the natives, would rebel... Tensions are high enough as it is." The commander paused in his speech as he took a sip, puckering at the taste... Flin, the native wine of Morrowind was a very bitter drink... The imperial captain could see why the dunmer liked it so much.
"You looking for khajiits? Most of them slaves... I'm gonna go ahead and not care why your interested in that... Your most likely places are House Telvanni and even parts of House Hlaluu. Private plantations of Great House Councillors have a lot of kahjiit. House Telvanni has the most slaves..."
The commander finished his drink as he got back up from the table, boots clicking as he slowly advanced on Lunara. "A word of caution though..." The imperial captain began, eyes dead serious. "Not many people here like outlanders... You are an outlander... The further you get away from strong imperial occupied areas, the more likely the natives will dislike you. If worse comes to worse... They may try to kill you... They may get away with it..." The captain finished.
