The Bitter Coast Region is dominated by thick swamp land. This nearly impenetrable wilderness is hard to travel off the roads. With dangerous predators lurking near the water away from sentient settlements, biting insects, robbers and smugglers, and constant rain fall, this place is uncomfortable and mildly treacherous for most travelors.
